Overview

We provide comprehensive neuropsychological assessments for adults, identifying cognitive strengths and weaknesses, diagnosis, and recommendations to support future planning.

An assessment can help when there are concerns about changes in memory, thinking or behaviour. It can clarify whether changes are consistent with a neurological or other condition, such as a dementia, and provide a baseline for monitoring any change over time.

Dr Pasula has substantial experience assessing people from complex clinical populations, and a particular interest in the assessment and diagnosis of dementias.

Common questions

Who might benefit from an assessment?

Adults experiencing changes in memory, attention, language, planning or behaviour, including people with suspected or diagnosed dementia, neurological conditions or brain injury, and people who want to better understand their cognitive strengths and weaknesses.

What does the assessment involve?

An assessment usually includes a clinical interview, standardised tests of thinking skills (such as memory, attention, language, visuospatial and executive functioning) and, with your consent, input from a family member or a review of relevant records.

What will I receive?

A written report summarising the findings, including cognitive strengths and weaknesses, a diagnostic opinion where appropriate, and practical recommendations. A feedback session is offered to explain the results.

What should I bring?

Your glasses or hearing aids if you use them, a list of current medications, and copies of any relevant reports, letters or scan results. You’re welcome to bring a family member or support person.
